Problem

At some point in the past you clicked this ‘Store Locally’ button:

Skip to the present day and you find yourself in a situation where Ekahau displays duplicate coverage profiles.

Solution

You can clean out those locally stored coverage profiles by deleting a ‘locally stored’ .json file.

on Windows

  • Open up your file explorer
  • Navigate to:
C:\Users\<username>\Ekahau Pro\
  • The dir that we need is called .settings and is a hidden folder
C:\Users\<username>\Ekahau Pro\.settings

  • Make sure Ekahau is not running
    • you can delete this coverageRequirements.json
    • or if you are ‘risk averse’ you can move the file to your desktop (allowing you to restore that file later, if you like that kind of thing)
  • Launch Ekahau again, you should now only see the default set of coverage requirements

on macOS

  • Quit Ekahau (if running)
  • Launch Finder
  • Select ‘Go’ from the Menu Bar
  • Select ‘Go to Folder…’

~/Users/<username>/Library/Ekahau Pro/.settings
  • .settings is a hidden folder FYI

  • This is the ‘local’ copy of coverageRequirements we want to delete
